Squad analysis – Who is it time to say goodbye to?
Morning Gooners! Who’s missing their weekly dose of Arsenal?!?! I certainly am, so I thought I’d write a blog post to go through the squad and try and decide who I think should move on to pastures new before the window closes. Goalkeepers Let’s start at the back with the ‘keepers. This is an absolute…

Transfer news – First Orn-bomb of the summer, but is it as conclusive as it initially seemed?
It’s one of those ‘drop everything’ moments when news filters through of an Orn-bomb. To most Arsenal fans, this term needs no explanation however, I’ll provide one – just in case there are any Gooners who have been living under a rock for the past 10 years or so!! The Orn-bomb explained When David Ornstein,…

The Arsenal Parade – Were you there?
On Sunday 31st May 2026, an estimated 1 million Arsenal fans packed the streets of North London to truly paint the down red and to pay tribute to the players for bringing the Premier League trophy back to were it belongs. Did you go? I must admit, I really wasn’t quite prepared for the sheer…

The Arsenal vs Paris Saint Germain – 1-1 – PSG win 4-3 on penalties – Glorious defeat again for Arsenal
Pain. Just unbelievable pain. It’s taken me over a week to write this post as I was trying so hard not to write something that would be reactive or overly negative. I really thought that with time, I’d not feel quite this crappy, but yet here I am, 8 or 9 days later, feeling exactly…

The Arsenal vs Paris Saint Germain – Champions League Final 2026
How do you preview a game of this magnitude?! Seriously, how? It’s just so unbelievably huge. What a game we have in store for us tonight. I think it’s starting to sink in now.
Good morning Gooners! It’s been a while since my last post (at least it feels quite a while!) and I think a few explanations are in order. I’m still within the first 12 months of starting this blog and at the start of this journey I had a very clear idea of what the blog…

ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB ARE PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS…AGAIN!!!
I repeat, Arsenal Football Club are Premier League Champions. Let that sink in. Let that wash over you. I’ll be honest, I’m still not sure if this has actually registered with me. How did you react?! After the tension of the last few games and the outpouring of relief and emotion at the full time…

West Ham United vs The Arsenal – History beckons…
Good morning Gooners! How are we all doing today? Nervous?! I must admit, I don’t remember feeling this level of anxiety for an Arsenal game in a long, long time. Let’s face it, the stakes couldn’t be higher. With every win, we take a giant step closer to the title and with only three Premier…

The Arsenal vs Fulham – 3-0 – Where has THIS Arsenal been?!?
Good morning Gooners! What a beautiful morning it is to be an Arsenal fan!! Arsenal picked a near perfect time to put in one of (if not THE) best performances of the season to blow Fulham away at The Emirates yesterday evening to run away three nil winners to not only extend Arsenal’s lead at…
A bit about Arsenal Calling…
What sort of things can I expect to read on Arsenal calling?
This is an Arsenal blog so there is always going to be an element of bias to the posts but we try to provide a balanced and measured opinion on the games and related talking points. We try not to be too reactive and generally like to look for the positives (not always easy!!) and try to back the players and the club wherever possible. There won’t be massive articles on technical detail but there will (hopefully!) be some interesting insights and opinions that will generate discussions and debate that we can all engage in.
Can I contribute to the blog?
Absolutely! One of the main motivations in creating this blog is to engage with other Gooners and discuss the club that we all love so please, send me messages, comment on posts and I will try to reply to as many as I can.
What is the target audience for this blog?
This blog is aimed at Arsenal fans of all ages but there will be some posts relating to the beginning Arsenal teams of a certain era, starting around 1999, that will be more relevant to some than others.
